Die Band INSELN wurde 2011 in Münster gegründet. Inspiriert vom deutschen Post-Punk der 80er und Hamburger Schule schrieben sie Songs, die zusätzlich mit einen deutlichen Anteil Noise versehen wurden. 2014 spielten sie unter anderem im Vorprogramm von DIE NERVEN in Bochum, zusammen mit DISPO aus Münster und beim DOCH DIE WELT NOCH NICHT BEREIT- Festival in Essen. 2015 wurde ihre erste selbstproduzierte CD veröffentlicht und sie begannen mit der Arbeit an neuen Songs, die stärker als bisher von Shoegaze Bands wie Diiv, Beach Fossils und Unhappybirthday beeinflusst sind.
